Nigeria on Wednesday defeated Gambia 1-0 in the first leg of their Ghana 2018 Africa women’s cup of nation’s qualifier in Banjul.
The super falcons dominated the match against the scorpions which featured only a goal from Amarachi Okoronkwo in the 19th minute but they failed to score more goals as the Gambians displayed a defensive outlook for the remainder of the match.
Nigeria now has a goal advantage over Gambia ahead their second leg as the winners of the two legs will qualify for 2018 Africa women’s cup of nations set hold from the 17th of November to the 1st of December.
