U.S JUDGE OVER-RULES SEPARATION OF IMMIGRANTS CHILDREN FROM PARENTS AT THE MEXICO BORDER

A US Federal Judge on Tuesday ruled that US immigration agents could no longer separate immigrant parents and children caught crossing the border from Mexico illegally
Judge Dana Sabraw, issued a preliminary injunction in favor of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) requiring that nearly all children younger than 5 be returned to their parents within 14 days and that older children be returned within 30 days
Calling the Trump administration policy a chaotic circumstance of the government’s own making, Sabraw said it was a startling reality that no adequate planning had been done before officials embarked on the policy
The preliminary injunction also blocks deporting parents who have been separated from their children
Deputy director of the ACLU’s immigrants’ rights project, Lee Gelernt called the ruling an enormous victory for parents and children who thought they may never see each other again, said tears will be flowing in detention centers across the country.
