OSINBAJO SAYS PRESIDENCY HAD NO KNOWLEDGE OF SIEGE ON NATIONAL ASSEMBLY

The Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo, has said that the presidency had no knowledge of the siege that was laid on the National Asmsebly by the officers of the Department of State Services (DSS).
Osinbajo in a statement said the takeover by the security operatives was a gross violation of the constitutional order, rule of law and all acceptable notions of law and order as it was unlawfully done without the knowledge of the presidency.
Security officials had on Tuesday morning stormed the premises of the national assembly barricading the entrance to the complex while lawmakers and members of staff of the National Assembly were prevented from entering the premises.
The Acting President in a statement through his spokesman, Laolu Akande, also described the act as unacceptable, however assuring Nigerians that all persons within the law enforcement apparatus who participated in this travesty will be identified and subjected to appropriate disciplinary action.
