INCUMBENCY WON’T DETERMINE 2019 PRESIDENCY-INEC

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has vowed that the power of incumbency would not determine who wins the 2019 presidential election.
Speaking during the Commission’s meeting with the Private Sector Forum organized by the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), INEC chairman, prof. Mahmood Yakubu, reacting to questions about concerns of Nigerians on the credibility of the 2019 general elections said the Commission was ready to conduct free, fair and credible elections in Nigeria.
Yakubu who said that the election process in Nigeria is improving, strengthened his argument by stating that there are  now few litigations challenging the outcome of elections compared to what was  experienced in the past
The INEC boss also revealed that since April 2017 when the ongoing continuous voter registration exercise started, some 9,700,999 new voters had been registered and the country will surpass 80 million registered voters by the time of the elections.
